Beach Front Home Hawaii

The choices of real estate in the Hawaiian Islands will amaze you, especially if beach front property is the focus of your search. There are a number of aspects that truly define the islands as a Pacific paradise, but a Hawaiian beach front property home with an ocean frontage has the most appeal imaginable. There are six of the seven islands that list property for sale with the majority of the focus on Hawaii, Kauai, Maui, and Oahu. However, you can also find a home with the ocean frontage amenity on either Lanai or Molokai. What's critical is that the employment you need to support you and your family is not as plentiful on those islands as it is on the four major ones.

The internet is always the best place to start your search because if you have already established what your finances will tolerate, then one of the main search criteria (usually the first one) is price. To say the least, you will be amazed at the price ranges. Just to give you an idea, here is the breakdown of price ranges for Hawaiian beach front property by each of the four islands mentioned above:

&bull Hawaii --- from ,000 for a small cabin to live in while you're building your dream home up to a 9,000 square foot, 6 bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms estate that is priced at .5 million

&bull Kauai --- from 0,000 for a 372 square foot studio with one bathroom to a 5 bedroom / 4.5 bathroom 4,000 square foot home priced at .4 million

&bull Maui --- from 5,000 for a 1 bedroom / 1 bath 610 square foot home up to a 5 bedroom / 5.5 bath 5,700 square foot home at million

&bull Oahu --- from 0,000 for a 400 square foot studio up to a .5 million estate that touts a total of 5,437 square feet for the 4 bedroom / 4.5 bath main house, the 3 bedroom / 2 bath cottage, and the 2 bedroom / 2 bath caretaker's quarters

Surprisingly, even though the prices start a little higher for homes on Kauai, the high-end homes sell for half what they do on the other three islands. However, they have the second fewest amount of properties listed with 191. Oahu has the least at 119 listed, but look at the difference in price on the high-end properties --- it's nearly double! Granted, it's 1,400 square feet bigger and has more amenities, but some times enough is enough.

The most amount of properties available were on the island of Maui with 851 listings, but again, the high-end properties top out at million. It's obvious why Maui is by far the most costly of the four islands for a home on beach front property --- there aren't a lot to choose from. Kauai's economy probably has an influence on why, with only 72 more listings that the high-end homes are priced half as much. In other words, there is a lack of jobs providing suitable income for working parents.

Please don't let this information discourage you from pursuing your dreams. Look at it as a guide or tool to help you as you search for beach front property in one of the island paradises. And by all means, best of luck in your search.
